Hi Alastair, I think Charles must of died shortly after the marriage took place he is not on the later census. I can not spot any of the other children from the marriages, wondering if they ended up in a workhouse for a while and then went to live with them later on. Will take another look this afternoon. Hi again Penelope, Thank you so much for looking for me. I was just wondering if maybe they lived in Fife because Catherine McKenzie married Robert Ritchie in 1857 in Markinch - Fife & they were found on the 1881 Census but it's her parents I cannot find. On Catherine's marriage cert it states Alex McKenzie & Christina or Christian Angus as her parents. It also says that Catherine's usual place of residence was at Scotland Wells - Port Moak which made me automatically assume they lived in Perth but she could have just been a domestic servant working in Perth. Robert Ritchie's parents were William Ritchie & Jean Brunton from Markinch or Kennoway. Can you find any of them atall please? I have been searching for this family for a long time but just getting nowhere. Any help/advice would be really appreciated Penelope. Katherine

Hi Pen Please could look up in the 1861 and 1871 census for Peter Bibby born 1835 Leyland married Margaret in 1855 i think they were living in Blackburn in 1861 and Rishton in 1871 . trying to find out if they had anymore childeren thanks Frank

Thanks for trying Pen. I don't know any other children's names unfortunately... but I'm not 100% sure of the mother's name anyway, I was hoping the 1841 could confirm it. Perhaps his birth date is incorrect? I'm sure you've tried every possible scenario. I'm looking for this William Gowrie Heron is 1851 too, but I take it you haven't got access to that one for Scotland. Thanks anyway, I appreciate your efforts. Kat :-)

Bibby Daur- U- Born Blackburn-Age 17 George Bibby Son- U Born Rishton- Age 14 Peter Bibby Son- U Born Rishton- Age 12 Margaret A. Bibby Daur- U Born Rishton- Age 6 William Starkie Boarder- U Born Stell Bridge Age 16 John Gawlter Boarder-Married- Born Blackburn Age 38 Although Margaret is showing as married I cannot trace her husband Peter at this time. I have come up with a Peter Bibby death record in 1891 which ties up with Margaret showing as a widow in 1901 census. They were married in 1855 and first child was born in 1862/3. Just wondering if there were any previous children that might show on the 1861 census, or was Peter away from home for the first years of marriage? Trying to fill the gaps as Peter seems to be absent most of the time but is showing as father on children's birth records. Any further help would be appreciated. Thanks again, Frank

Pen, You are a genius! Peter is my great grandfather and was born in Wheelton!!! Its a small village between Chorley and Blackburn. Hi Pen I have been trying to get 1841 Census for Charles Davis born abt 1812 in St. Georges Stepney Middx but so far no luck but as his children were born Westminster early 1840 I wondered if he was in this area for the Census. His wife was Mary Ann b abt 1818. I wonder if you could look again and see if you have any more luck. Also his wife 1851 censes has aluded me but she may also have been living in Westminster with her children as they were born in that area Charles b. 1845 Emma b. 1847 Charlotte 1849 and Isabel 1850 Charles was at his place of business I think in Stepney It would be great if anything else turns up With many thanks Regards Pamela
