Find Ancestors

ref: 1841 Scotland census lookup. Hello Pen, I originally found my SCOTT, James, born 1827c Bo'ness, Linlithgow, West Lothian on 1871 census Barony , St Mark, Glasgow aged 45 years with wife Mary and children. From LDS I was then able to trace his parents and siblings back to Bo'ness. I assumed that in 1841 they were still there. Maybe they had already moved to Barony where he married Mary McFarlane (see below) in 1847? McFarlane family, once again I have the birth of Mary and her siblings born Barony, Glasgow and assumed that in 1841 this was where the family would be residing, given her marriage to James SCOTT in 1847. Sorry am I making sense :-) Appreciate all your help Pen, my lot are certainly to proving to be very elusive. bye Helen

Hi Pen. You asked for Father's name of Mary Jane Roe. I only have her mothers data as per my original request but I do have her grandparents - Frederick Roe born 1841 died 1921 and Barbara Roe (don't know maiden name) born 1841 died 1906. No place of birth given in family bible but as Mary Jane Roe supposed to have been born North or South Scarle could be possible grandparents there as well. I'll get in touch with my cousins to see if I can extract any more info but only just started meeting up with them. Regards Ron

Hi Pen This may be a big one but hopefully not. I'm now looking for all instances of WATCH in SOMERSET, 1841 census. They mainly resided around the Pilton / Shepton Mallet area, but some Chew Magna & Wookey, other known locations Shut Well Lane & Prospect from other census returns. Likely male names are John, James, George, William, Edward, Albert & Thomas. Sorry can't be more specific. Hope it's not too much of a problem. Many thanks David
