Hi Jane, Not sure if you can help me. I am trying to locate my great grandparents on my fathers side. We had quite an unusual surname ( well i think so anyway!!) but cant seem to find them. My grandfather William Henry Pettitt was born in 1914 in Limehouse East London and his sister Caroline was born in Stepney East London in 1909 though I do believe there may well have been more children. My great grandparents were called George William Pettitt and my great grandmothers maiden name was Mary Ann Wood. I cant see that they would have lived anywhere else other than East London as I thought my fathers 'East End' roots were pretty strong. With my fathers death I have lost contact with his side of the family but want to trace the family further. I can only presume that my G.Grandparents must have been bor around the 1880's maybe early 1890's, though this is just a stab in the dark. Any information however great or small would be so appreciated. If you cant help then that doesnt matter I just thank you for your time and effort. Many thanks Deborah Corrie (nee Pettitt) |

I hope you can help me, and I hope I have enough details for you to go on. I'm trying to establish the birthplace or even where in 1841 Elizabeth Shepherd was living. In 1851 she is definitely married to David Jones and living at Old Well, Penrice, Gower. I think she was born in 1818, could be somewhere on the Gower or even a remote possibility of Loughor, Glamorgan. Thanks, Linda. |
