Hello Mary, Ann Foster's parents were called John and Sarah. He was a wheel wright and they are found in 1841 in Soulbury, but not her. Someone emailed the page to see today, and the family is at the bottom of the page. I was wondering if Ann is simply on the next page - or actually living elsewher as she is already 20. Can you see if you can find her please? Sorry to bothet you again, best wishes Jane

Hi Mary, WYNNE Thanks for your help. I do have both death certificates but neither show parents names. When she died in 1849 William as husband was given. When he died in Loose, Kent in 1862 he must have been with friends as the informant was not a relative, and no other family names were given. Sorry about the double up. I cleared a lot of emails and have forgotten to whom previous requests were made. Thanks again, Fran

Mary many many thanks for your help ( i have pasted your last reply at the bottom of this message) I have a copy of marias and jessies marriage cert already and it shows her as a widow and that her fathers name was Dowding. The reason that i am looking into this one is because on the numerous jestico trees that i have seen they all show her as Maria barnes. I am just trying to double check my research really as i was confused as to where the name barnes came from she was born parsons.she marries Jessie with her name at the time being Dowding. Her son from her first marriage is william dowding so i couldnt see where the barnes fitted in I was told only yesterday that the reason she is shown as Barnes on all the other trees is because jessie and maria had a son and on the birth cert she is supposed to be called Barnes. I think i will add her to my tree as Dowding/barnes until im absolutely sure. Thanks again mary x Added by Mary Bentley on 12/11/2006 14:34:53 CORRINE Hi I have had a look but I can't find a marriage for an Elijah Dowding and any Maria. I did however find a Marriage for a Maria Dowding to a Jessie Jestico. and on the 1861 and 1871 census there is a William Dowding living with this couple. on the 1871 census Maria is down as his mother. There marriage ref is Vol 2b and Page 328 they married 1859 April to June Q Brighton. Also there is a death of an Edwin Elisha Dowding Vol 2b Page 93 1855 Brighton. I you sent for these certs it shoule give you Marias maiden name (Perhaps) Mary

Hi Mary RE HIGGINBOTTOMS Samuel was born around 1832 in New Mills, Derbyshire. I know that he married a Sarah HATFIELD/HADFIELD (b1832 Hyde, Cheshire). I know they married and lived in Rhode Island, had 5 children then came back to UK. But her family and his stayed in America. His sister Elizabeth married a Thomas Bates, had 2 children and stayed in New York. Sarah's brothers and sisters married and stayed in Rhode Island. I just can't find out what happened to Samuel's parents and younger brother John. Hope that helps with your searching. Can you let me know which US census you have access to? Thanks Dawn

Hi Mary, Hope you are well, I've been having a bit of a break as lots on but it's nice to be back! Please may you look for the following for me: Marriage record of Charles Rayner, 1835, Pontefract and Eliza Johnson, 1837, Wakefield. I have it down as being wed in 1860 in Flockton, Wakefield. They had a daughter Emily Johnson Rayner, 1862, Wakefield and have no birth record of this either. Kind Regards Hannah x
