Hello Pen, I've an 1861 Scottish look up please. Following on from this 1851 census:- 1851 Census Piece: SCT1851/247 Place: Turriff -Aberdeenshire Enumeration District: 4 Civil Parish: Turriff Ecclesiastical Parish, Village or Island: - Folio: 187 Page: 2 Schedule: 7 Address: Markethill WILSON John Head M M 55 Crofter Aberdeenshire - Turriff WILSON Martha Wife M F 46 Crofter's Wife Aberdeenshire - Monquhitter WILSON Jean Dau U F 23 Crofter's Daughter Aberdeenshire - Turriff WILSON James Son U M 17 Shoemaker Aberdeenshire - Turriff WILSON Isabella Dau U F 12 Crofter's Daughter Aberdeenshire - Turriff WILSON Charles Son - M 10 Scholar Aberdeenshire - Turriff WILSON Martha Dau - F 7 Scholar Aberdeenshire - Turriff WILSON Jessie Dau - F 1 Aberdeenshire - Turriff BEGG John Grnson - M 2 Aberdeenshire - Turriff I am trying to find out what became of John Begg. There is an IGI entry suggesting his mother is Jean Wilson, who is in that list above. If that is the case then he may be with her in the 1861 census. By that time she had married a James Milne and was living in Turriff at the time of her daughter Isabella being born in 1861. If not, is he still with his grandparents John & Martha? They were still alive at that time. Could I have their census entry anyway? Ta ;-))) Any help you can give me would be great. Thanks very much Donna x

Hi Louise The most up to date census is only 1901, so I guess there not on that. The best thing for you to do is go and register for free with ancestry and go through the BMD index looking for them. Best of luck Pen x

Hi Pen Thanks, much appreciated... Could you please do a search for .... WILLIAM GREEN COOMBS b. 1/7/1829 Milborne Port Somerset.. par... Robert Coombs and Ann Green. Would only need 1841/51 as he came to South Australia in 1852. He was married at the time he sailed to Jane McMillan but she died at sea aged 20. Not sure if he married 51 or 52.
