Kate Jane Pogson b c1884 Pimlico married Thomas Gordon Wolstencroft in Q1 1909 St Geo. H Sq. Now T G disappears or dies and Kate Wolsoncroft marries Henry James Williams Q2 1910 in Southwark His reg is 1d 195, her reg is 1d 196 on Ancestry andthe spelling of her name varies both on Ancestry (Wolsencroft) and freebmd (Wolsoncroft). Can't explain the different reg numbers but the next info matches. From this marriage three girls are born. Katherine C Williams mmn Pogson Chelsea Q3 1912; Evelyn F Williams mmn Pogson Q1 1916 St Geo. H Sq; Diana M Williams mmn Pogson Q4 1922 St Geo H Sq. We all know that Katherine C was called Katherine C but her marriage to Stanley V Busby was registered Kathleen C W Williams.................and the rest is history. Are you all zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz |

Sorry folks My friend was rushed to hospital last night I was there from 9.30 til 4.30 this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant wait either but dont know when we will all get back I,m here after work today at 1.30 and I WILL tell you ALL the gossip as most parties are now dead so my mum says its ok to tell THANKS everyone I really excited to find out too |

Hi CZ Sorry for not appearing earlier, but I had a bit of an upset with the candle site (see Gen board). Also wanted to apologise again for thinking I'd found the birth record when I hadn't! A few things occurred to me during the night, like why your Mum is the middle child but the only one to have the two mother's maiden names? Could be like Joan and I said before, that somebody different registered your Mum's birth. I also wondered if Kathleen was maybe registered as Charlotte Kathleen, and just chose to use it the other way round? There is a Charlotte K Wolstencroft in the right birth index (3rd quarter 1912), but I don't want to confuse things even further. Another thing that I noticed whilst trawling through all the indexes, is that Wolstencroft is very much a 'northern' name, Lancashire area, whereas the Busbys are Londoners. I hardly like to suggest this, but there is another possibility. Could your Mum be the result of an affair? For example, if Kathleen had an affair with a Mr Wolstencroft and wanted to make sure it was included in some way on your Mum's birth cert, she could have said that she'd been known by that name at some time. Please let me know if you want me to delete this. Mandy |
