Gill, this one is a puzzle. Because Willaim was born in 1868 I looked at the 1871 census, There his father was Daniel, I then checked the 1881 census and he was Samuel. Hi, I'm trying to find the parents of William Brookes b. 1868 in Rowley Regis, Staffs....on the IGI it gives his father's name as Samuel, but I have a birth cert.for William and to me it looks like Daniel...not Samuel ....because of the handwriting I wondered if it's been entered incorrectly.
