I'm trying to trace the ancestors of Lieutenant Thomas Masterman Hardy, who was aboard the Victory in the battle of Trafalgar in 1805. As a boy my father told me that he was descended from Hardy. My father is dead and I can find no record nor proof of this, just that my father was the son of a another Thomas Hardy. I have this from his birth certificate, 1919. Thomas Hardy (my Grandfather) and my Grandmother were divorced in 1922. She later remarried and my father took the name of his step-dad, which was Edgley. |
