Trying to find descendants of JAmes Wilkin b 1857, Joseph Wilkin b 1860, and Thomas Wilkin b 1851, all born in Longtown, Cumberland. Their father Joseph Wilkin died in 1860 aged 32, a few months before his son Joseph's birth. Mother Catherine Schollick b 1824 near Longtown. After Joseph's death, Catherine moved to S Shields, Durham, with sons James, Joseph, Thomas and Robert, leaving 2 sons William and John behind in Cumberland. In 1881 Census, JAmes and Joseph Wilkin were living with Catherine in 25 Walpole St, Westoe, Durham. Thomas Wilkin (os Wilkins) had married Elizabeth Connelly, and lived at 134 PAlmerston St, Westoe, Durham. In 1901 Census, James Wilkin, Cooper, had married Annie, and they were living at 49 Berwick St, S Shields. Joseph Wilkin, Cooper at Barium Works, had married Susannah (?second wife), children Henry F born 1890, John J born 1900. No sign of Thomas Wilkin or his wife Elizabeth in the 1901 Census - maybe they emigrated?? All info gratefully received - I can share info on Catherine and Joseph, and other siblings |
