Find Ancestors

Trying to find any relatives of Frank Townson and his 1st wife-Elizabeth(nee Shuttleworth).Frank was born in Hornby in 1876 & married Elizabeth in Barrow-in-Furness in 1896.They had children:Mary who was born in Barrow-in-Furness in 1897,John who was born in Bentham Yorksire(near Lancashire border) in 1900 and Lilian who was born in Barrow-in-Furness in 1902.Elizabeth died in 1904 & Frank remarried in 1905 a Lizzy Whittingham in Preston.He worked in that area for a while around Goosenargh.He and Lizzy had a son in 1906.I lose all trace of Frank & Lizzy & their son after this date.I do not know what happened to John after 1901 census,although I do know exactly what happened to Lilian-she was brought up by grandparents(Shuttleworths) & have a little info on Mary.Before this I have full Townson tree back to 1600s in Wray,Roeburndale,Hornby,Bolton & Tatham Fell areas-amongst others.ANY info MUCH appreciated.Many thanks,Paul-ggrandson of Frank.

Hi Paul, My Townson tree centres around Bentham, Yorks,Nr. Lancaster. My father is James B. Townson(b1918)and his father was Thomas Holmes Townson(1878), married to Kate Elizabeth Holmes(1879) who came from Wray. There are a couple of Frank T's in my tree. One born 1849 died 1861, the other born 1880 died 1945. Also have John Townsons. We have to be careful here because I know that we are not related(closely) to the Bolton Townson, certainly not before the 1700 as far as I know.Anyway if you think there may be a link, you are welcome to view my tree. Did you find Frank after 1906?

Perhaps his first son named John died as he has another son named John in 1911.

CHEERS,his mother-Elizabeth,died in 1904,father-Frank remarried in 1905 & left Barrow-in-Furness.John was brought up by Elizabeths parents,John & Sarah Shuttleworth,along with his sister-Lilian (my grandmother) His other sister-May,was brought up by her aunt & uncle (Elizabeths sister & her husband-the Keast family who also lived on Barrow Island.Many thanks for your help.

I think Lilian-my grandmother,went to the same school as both John & May ?
