Unfortunately, the Gillian who posted about Eli King may be a different Gillian.

She's Gillian Taylor, registration number 8273398, has been a GR member since December 2007, and still has an active GR account.

So she's unlikely to be the Gillian King who started this Longthorne thread in January 2007 -

UNLESS she closed her first account and re-registered under a different name!

You can send a message to the Gillian Taylor who posted about Eli, and ask her if she's the person who started this Longthorne thread - but I strongly suspect she's not.

@ErikaH, @ArgyllGran - This is truly incredible! I never expected anything like this at all. I am so grateful and a little overwhelmed, in the best possible way. It's going to take a little bit of time to go through all this.

I think I did find one other post from Gillian King - searching in Advanced Search 'Gillian' AND 'King' (thanks a lot for the tips). The title of the post was 'Eli King b.1868 Birmingham'. In which she says:

"I think Eli King married Emily Taylor ( a relative of mine) In the 1891 census Eli is single living with sister and husband. In the 1901 census he is a widower living with mother in law and sister in laws. Emily Taylor died in 1899. I am desperately trying to find when they got married, can anyone help"

Ethel replied:

"Hi Gillian.
Eli King and Emily Jane Taylor married July/Sept. Qtr. 1899 in Aston. vol 6d 651.

She died in the next Quarter. Oct/Dec 1899 Aston . vol 6d 248.

I hope this helps. Ethel."
