Lol Ian you don't want to be trudging round churchyards in this weather and besides, it's highly unlikely there's a headstone to find |

It's lovely to know that we've managed to solve the mystery between us so thanks for letting us know. Have fun with your John and Jacob and let us know if you're stuck. |

I've just sent off another form with the GRO info. added as you suggested.. Frankly it was obvious once I looked again, ( silly me...) armed with your explanation.... I've asked them via e-mail to cancel my second application & just process the third one... but never mind if thats not possible - a lesson learnt for the next time.... . - the process seems to be much quicker if you include the GRO info... which makes sense as, i assume it would narrow the search somewhat. the estimated despatch date is now the 24th of Jan.... So we shall see. |

No problem Ian. I just wish we had told you before as we are all curious to know the details from Cyril's birth certificate. |

I think, from memory Ian, there is a bit that asks if you have a reference number or something like that. When you click on that , it takes you to a page asking for the volume number and page number. |

Thats what i thought Rootgatherer, and what i did last time, but when i tried again today, there were questions about his parents names, - so i tried that just incase it might make a difference??? - I could not see any where on the on-line form to type in the Volume or page number ? |

Ian, if you are ordering from the GRO you only need to give the name, year, volume number and page number. You don't need to give any information about his parents. |
