Mr Francis Fairman William Bourn was born in 1907, possibly in the Reigate, Surrey area, believed to be the only son of Frank Bourn (Gardener) and Eileen Constance Ellen Fairman. He worked as a Production Engineer at De Havilland Aircraft Company in Hatfield, Herts in the 1930' and 1940's and resided at Cumberland Court, opposite the factory on the London Road, Hatfield, with his wife Gladys maude (nee BELL) before eventually moving to Hitchin. They had two children, Roberta (Bobbie-b.1940) and Peter-b. 1942. He passed away in 1955 aged 48, having suffered a debilitating condition known then as Disseminated Sclerosis (or MS) |
