William Sherratt, greengrocer in Hanley, had a shop on Upper Market Street, around 1880 to sometime in the 1900s.
His wife was Mary Coxon, they had 2 sons Harry, & James.
James was my Grandad he married Frances wagstaff.
I cannot get beyond William & Mary. and i cannot find Harry other than the 1901 Census where he was an aprentice grocer for his dad.
we also would like to find out what happened to the shop.
Any Help would really be Grateful

I don't know if William owned the shop- but by 1911 there are lots of ads in the paper listing 2 Upper Market Square, Hanley as :
"KREMO DAIRY CO. ECONOMY Every housewife studies economy when she buys OUR goods The HIGHEST quality at the very LOWEST PRICES"
- it advertises butter, tea, eggs etc. so probably a general grocers.
