Hi,
would be grateful for the info regarding Harold Hulme b 06th January 1914 from the 1921 census please.
He is in the 1939 register as Incapcitated in Staffordshire Mental Hospital, Cheddlesston. There is no obvious birth record on FreeBMD. He is NOT Harold Hulme b JFM 1914 W Derby 8b 456.

Stalybridge was in Ashton under Lyne reg district

This is the only birth for that name in Ashton at approx the right time

[EDIT: but this child is NOT the one in Cheadle in 1921 - unless listed twice at different addresses, and with wrong info re parents ]:

Years of birth stated in 1939 register are often incorrect, and as GG said, ages stated at death are only as good as the knowledge or belief of the informant - in this case presumably a hospital staff member.
Also , the hospital may have been given a slightly wrong DOB when he was admitted in the first place.
