The Census for 1931 was destroyed during WW2.

Thankyou for your help and time

freebmd record is less accurate than the GRO

PAULSON, MARGARET -
GRO Reference: 1929 J Quarter in LINCOLN Volume 07A Page 812

She was definitely illegitimate. You will need to buy the cert to find out who her mother was

Too recent for a digital image to be available

We've assumed that this request is for 1939 and that the OP made a typo...............

If however, Sidami, you actually mean 1931, the 1931 census was taken.....................and destroyed, so no info available

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 6 Apr 2024 14:45

The amendment to which I referred was that done as part of the discontinued maintenance of the Register

Obviously, later changes which arise from info provided to FMP by individuals are not part of this

Good to know that FMP don’t charge………I was under the impression that, in the early days at least, they did

Don't know the answer to that, I'm afraid!
You're probably best to ask FMP.

Actually, I should think a digital image is OK. All they really want is "evidence of death".

"If the person died after 1991, we can accept scans of death certificates as evidence of death. If you feel that a record is officially closed erroneously, you can submit a request along with evidence of death to have that record made available to view. "

Sorry, this is only slightly relevant. My mother died in 2018 and we had her redacted 1939 record opened by sending a copy of her death cert. They don't charge for this. Digital images from the GRO were not available then and I was just wondering if they are acceptable now or if you still have to supply a copy of a full one. I know they cannot be used for legal purposes but does this count as legal?

Death far too recent for 1939 to have been amended....................as the OP has been told on previous occasions

?? Her death:

Going by the fact that her husband's death was registered in "Lincolnshire" - see other thread;

If you are wanting her mums name then getting the cert or download the digital image is the best way

It would need to be at least 30 years unless someone has paid to have her record opened…please bear this in mind for the future

Get her parents’ names then someone can look for them
