45 St Charles Square (Frances's address on her death cert) was the home of the Mackeson family.
William Wyllis Mackeson, a barrister, was the resident at 45 St Charles Square from at least 1881 onwards, per the Electoral Rolls and 1881 census.
He died in 1892.
After 1892, No 45 wasn't listed again until 1898, when his widow Anne Mackeson lived there until her death in 1909, though by that time her son-in-law Lt Col Sidney Cargill is the householder on the ER..
Frances must just have been a guest or boarder there before her death.

I've now found David's death in 1902 with probate to Fanny Mould Shaw. She is recorded as his wife in the 1901.
She is nee Sillery and they married in London in 1896. A VERY MUCH YOUNGER WIFEY!

Gosh, Greyghost you are officially amazing and thank you so much. Fabulous yet sad information.
The chances are that his middle name would have either been Samuel or Stewart; seems I chose the wrong one .................
That puts an end to the poor talented chap. :-(
I am guessing that his mother may have returned to England with her young son, was not in the best of health in 1891 two years before her death. She may have been in a hospital or similar and missed off the census .............
THANK YOU again.

Google - Lieut. John Stewart SHAW: the Queen's Royal West Surrey Regiment Born Jan. 27, 1866. Died of Cholera, at Yemethen, Burma, Dec. 14, 1886 Was the youngest son of Colonel David Shaw, madras Staff Corps. Passing out second of his batch from Sandhurst, he selected and joined, in January of last year, the Queen's Royal West Surrey Regiment, then stationed at Calcutta. On the opening of the autumn campaign he proceeded with his regiment to Burma, joining the division operating in the Yemethen district. Ancestry tree has her son John as John Stewart Shaw + 5 siblings. I haven't trawled through all 30 trees on ancestry with her in but none on the first page have her whereabouts in 1891. Those that mention John have a year of birth but not death and almost nil else about him.
did john follow his Father into the Army perhaps, so could be anywhere in the world

Can anyone see what became of this lady in 1891 who married Lieutenant General DAVID SHAW of the Madras Staff Corps?
She was born in 1832 and died in 1893 in London. She left her estate to her widower David Shaw but I can't find what became of him either ............
I am ONLY looking for her in the 1891 census, please.
I can see her in 1881 with her son John S. Shaw aged 15, born Madras; his birth place figures.
It would not surprise me if John's middle name is in fact SAMUEL going forward and I would very much like to see if anything is revealed about him, too. I.e., JOHN ?possibly Samuel? SHAW born c.1865+/-.
