There is this couple in 1841 - not in Elston, although the villages are only about a mile apart

As ages were rounded down to the nearest 5 for the 1841 census William could have been born as early as 1777 if age given is correct.

I don't see the death of a Sarah Merrin in Nottinghamshire in 1841, as per the tree you have found.

There's this death of a Sarah, but she's an infant, and it's 1839-40, not 1841:

MERRIN, SARAH 0
GRO Reference: 1840 M Quarter in NOTTINGHAM Volume 15 Page 498

There were several other female Merrin deaths in Nottingham in 1841 +/-2 - mostly infants - so it was a common name in the area.

There are a couple of baptisms of a William Merrin in Nottm/Notts If his declared age at death was out a little and bearing in mind the ? baptism of a son William in Nottingham 1806 but nothing to prove.

William Merrin bap. 3.4.1775 St Wilfrid, Wilford, Nottinghamshire s/o John and Hannah

and

William Merrin bap. 8.4.1776 Nottingham s/o William and Sarah8 April 1876 (probably St Mary's though the record doesn't show the place.

I have everyone in the tree along with birth certificates and baptism records for the Warriner/Merrin family. I've just hit a dead end for the marriage of William & Sarah.

What records do you have which prove that William married a Sarah?

You haven't given any indication of how you worked back to these people.

I don't have any records of the marriage for William & Sarah. I have seen a tree on Ancestry that mentions the marriage but I'm looking for proof of that marriage.
