I doubt very much whether even Goda had any knowledge of William and Cleora. When she married, she named Henry Cobben as her father.
There is no record of her living with her birth parents as far as I can see

No mention on her headstone of ANY relations

Perhaps you're the most appropriate person to have them..................

William and Cleora have no known living descendants, and you did know their son, and seem to have been fond of him

Update:

Have contacted two GR trees and one of them has responded. We are only distantly related and don't share the same descendandy.

I'm still hopeful that I can return these beautiful family paintings to the family.

I knew that I should have compiled a tree from all these super notes. So apologies for getting my Herbert's/William's in a muddle.

Wolseley's father's obituary mentions a married daughter and this is Gundred, see above. She left a handsome amount of money in 1965 but without ordering her Will I am unable to see if she left any of it to children which could help in locating descendants.

Wolseley's brother Rollo had a daughter Goda who appears to have married a 'Firkins' but all her records are in Australia. She may have married twice to a 'Cobban'. I don't have a worldwide subscription to try to trace her there.

So any blood descendants of my chap are still elusive. I have messaged a couple of member trees for his mother Cleora and await their reply.

I think I'm lucky to have such unusual first names in all of this but it hasn't made the search any easier! Wolseley, Rollo, Gundred, Goda, Cleora ............
