I shall look into the possible marriages and deaths for Edna Knight. I think she no longer lived with her Mum & step-dad after WWII. Thanks for all your help. |

So Beryl worked in the NAAFI? Was that like a cafe/bar/social club? |

Not in the WRAC - if the 1960 reference to NAAFI is accurate |

Hi Shirley, thanks for all the info on Edna & Beryl Knight, also Dora Barwell. Think I have worked out their lives but do not have much on Edna & Beryl as adults. I will be looking into all the suggestions I have received from GR members. Just hope their lives worked out happy. |

Thank you for this Erika. Could possibly be the Beryl connected to my Cheesman family tree. Does this mean she was in the WRAC? |

But no married name is given on the 1939 register suggesting Edna never married |

Looking randomly at that list of deaths - you'd need certs (marriage and/or death) to rule them in or out: |

Beryl's birth is registered as Knight with MMN Barwell, so, legally, she is a full sister to Edna, although if the mother lied about the father's identity when registering the birth, it would be difficult to prove nearly a century later. |
