Alexander Forrest Murray born 1889 died 04/04/1931 in Dundee. He left £463-12-6pence to Jane Shaw (Murray-his mother)
Alexander married Charlotte T C Horsburgh on 24th April 1912 at Clepington Road, Dundee. They had one son:- Alistair Forrest Murray born 9/10/1912.
His parents were divorced in 1919 and Alistair was brought up by his mothers family - the Horsburgh family at Travebank, Barry, by Carnoustie, Angus.
Charlotte (Granny Dudgeon) married Alexander Dudgeon - a ship builder from Dundee. Her home address was given as Travebank etc.(house demolished about 10 years ago). They had one daughter - Charlotte known as Sheila (Aunty Sheila)(married Seddon). Charlotte and Alexander lived abroad for many years from 1923 to 1929 in Singapore, Penang.
On the 19th April 1941 Alistair Forrest Murray married Barbara Kelman Davie and they had 3. Children(All living)
Barbara’s mother was Mary Neal born in 1880 in France ? Adopted by Alexander Kelman and Barbara Kelman (Alexander Kelman’s mother was Barbara Farquhar in the 1861 census she was age 13 and working in a flax mill)
The adoption of Mary Neal Kelman, (Granny Davie) (was never talked about within the family so the information came as a surprise and I have no idea of the circumstances of her birth or how she arrived in Dundee.)
Barbara Davie had a brother, Fergus Nesbit Davie born in 1919 died 2013. The
Davie family is spread far and wide from Dundee to the USA.
