I have the following young man living with his Aunty in 1911
John Thomas RICHARDS B: 1895 - Hucknall Torkard, Nottinghamshire.
I've found his Baptism and believe he died in WW1
He should be the Son of John Thomas RICHARDS and his wife, Ellen but I can't find them in 1901 or 1911 . Ellen appears to be around to witness her Sister, Elizabeth's marriage in 1903.
Any help much appreciated

Shirley posted Army records at 1309
Born Hucknall.
Looking at those documents he first joined the Leicestershire Regiment , but was transferred to the Lincolnshire Regiment less than 2 weeks later in Sept. 1914. 2 years later in Sep. 1916 a further transfer saw him in the Kings Own Royal Lancashires
Lastly there is an entry that says he was Killed in Action - the date is feint but looks like 1917 (elsewhere 10.4.1917
A further document shows " please note that any articles of personal property now in your possession or subsequently received by you belonging to No 27014 Private John Thomas Richards 1st Battalion Royal Lancaster Regt. should be despatched to - Mrs Ellen Richards, 8 Birch's Row, Church Street, Old Basford, Nottingham. Further document says that's the address for Medals to be sent.
There is a signed note acknowledging receipt of British War Medal and Victory Medal 7.1922 and an earlier one in 4/1922, both signed Mrs E Richards having received the 1914/15 Star in respect of the Service of Pte JT Richards Royal Lancs
He served with the Expeditionary Force in France, then Mediterranean and back to France There are entries for hospital time in the Dardanelles and Malta between 9/15 and 3/16 when he returned to England whilst with Lincs Regt. Went to (? 1st) Southern General Hospital in Bi=rmingham before being transferred to Paddington Park War hospital (near Croyden) and then Woldingham Convalescent depot in Surrey
His Grave is in Athies Military Cemetery near Arras
