Sorry if I was not clear with my request so here is what I know:
Francis/Frank Wood born 03/07/1866 in Greenock, Scotland. His parents were Francis Wood and Mary Love. He married Eliza Watson on 19/03/1886 and had a son Frank Love Wood born 21/06/1886. Mary Wood née Love died on 23/02/1927 and was listed as a widow, I have searched death notices from 1886 until 1927 as well as census for that time, but there is no sign of him. Any suggestions would be great thank you.

I expect you already know that the son died in 1916.......................death reported in Aberdeen newspaper

I'm confused here. If Mary Love died in 1927 then is it this Francis that you can't find a death for?

What does Mary Love being a widow have to do with this?


This appears to be Mary Love Wood's death seeing as how her husband was a widower in 1881.

His brother Donald also went to USA.

Donald married Catherine/Katherine Ballantyne in 1897. In 1901 they're in Paisley. He must have emigrated shortly after that - though may have also been out there in 1891 and come back temporarily , as I don't see him in Scotland in 1891.
His wife and two sons, Francis and Donald, went out to join him in 1903.
