Find Ancestors

Trying to find the death of Philip Goodwin born late1932. Wokingham, Berkshire.
Last son of John Goodwin and Mary Dorothy Meads. My grandfather's sister.
Philip married Beryl D Hatt in 1955 in Wokingham. The last of their 8 children was Michele Lisa 1970-73? I cannot find what happened to him after the last child!
This may be wrong, but I have a marriage to a Maureen Stone in 1976 in Wokingham. A marriage of Beryl D Hatt to an Arthur J Watmore in Hampshire in 1984.
I've checked through 4 sites and 50 pages of Goodwin's in GR without result!
Can anyone help with the death of Philip Goodwin after 1970 please?

192.com have Philip living in Basningstoke in 2013.

Zoopla don't have a date for the last sale of the property, which may be a flat.

If he died after 2021, there will be no accessible online record other than a newspaper announcement.........if such exists.

Find the children and ask them. Even if we find Philip he would be classed as vulnerable due to his age and you shouldn’t be trying to contact him direct.

The 'open' record in 1939 could be an error. My partner's two cousins - both very much alive, born 1930 and 1933 - are 'open' as is a close friend born 1931

Certainly seems to be an error as he has been living in Basingstoke.

Listings mention "Marriage and Divorce". But there does not seem to be any records for "Divorce"! I can't imagine there was a divorce after all those children. Plus one more?

Regarding his wife, I could not find her death record., (Surname?) As I mentioned, there is a Beryl D Goodwin marriage to Arthur Watmore in 1984.
Found Philip in Bernstein Rd, Basingstoke, but lists often do not include partners.
Will all this have to remain a mystery?

His first wife re- married as Goodwin or Watmore, which gives you a clue.

Divorce records are on the NA site, but only 0.2% of recent ones survive.

Use the GRO site to look for recent deaths………up to 2021

Follow the advice advice about researching the children…….not unduly difficult in view of their names, of which some are distinctive.

Beryl was living in Havant, Hampshire, can’t remember the dates - but maybe you could look it up yourself. If not on here then try 192.com

If you pay the 192.com fee you can get the record to see who else was living in the homes.

Same here, on FMP, son b1985. Also Deidre's daughter b1989. Swindon, Wilts.

Wondering about Beryl's possible long association (while married to Philip) and a possible later marriage to Arthur Watmore in Kingsclere & Whitchurch, Hampshire.

Back in 1962 Belinda J Goodwin was born to Beryl registered in Winchester, Hants. The only child born in Hampshire, and close to Kingsclere & Whitchurch!!!
Would this suggest a possible later divorce?

Try making contact with the grandson, with a tactfully-worded letter, if you want factual info.
