Hi All
Working on Toogood's as above.
I have a Thomas Toogood born 11 July 1784 Marston Derby married Mary Simpson.
The children born range from 1803-1821
Thomas could possibly be a son of Jacob Toogood c.1758 bapt Tutbury married to Sarah Smith.
The only problem is a son to Jacob and Sarah Smith is also a Thomas Toogood b..11 July 1784 bapt Marston, Derby who married Sarah Meer.
The children born range from 1813-1827.
So if he married twice the age of children born don't work out right or are they 2 totally different Thomas's just born or baptised on the same date.
One son born to Mary Simpson I'm really interested in and that is Thomas 1806-1871 a chemist in HULL married to Eleanor Bradley in 1835 he left 1500 pounds to a son called Richard, love to connect her to the Bradley's I already have.
Can anyone help.

Witnesses to that 1835 marriage posted by ArgyllGran -
John Bradbury or Bradburn and Jane Darley

John signs as witness on several other marriage records in the OPR so probably a Church official

Both bride and groom said to be aged 21 on one of the transcripts

I don't have where Eleanor Bradley was born only birth date 1806-1870 married in Hull
The Bradleys I have started in Ireland then to New Zealand she does not appear in what I have

The name Bradley is by no means uncommon

Records for the 18th century show baptism dates.........only if the vicar made a specific note can you determine the birth date.

Thank you all for the information, I'm believing I have 2 different Thomas's.
Over the many years I have been around I have always been asked am I related to Selwyn Featherston Toogood a NZ radio and TV personality, he descends from Thomas and Mary Simpson
I can know say NO I'm not, but who knows what might pop up.
