Better to do proper research than to take notice of 'suggestions' which don't have any documentary backup - especially with common names ;-) ;-)

Hi, there was a post on Ancestry that suggested that Lucy Ann Rees was a possible link to being the wife of David Williams the thought was that Rees being the middle name of his son.The brother of Lucy ,Herbert Rees married an aunt of Davids in Canada and this added too the confusion.But with your help and suggestions I believe this has now been put to rest

Tell us what you KNOW to be 100% accurate about Lucy Ann Rees. It doesn't appear that you have her in your tree on GR, so how is she related to you?

One certainty - if she used her correct forenames. she didn't marry the father of Morgan Rees Williams

Whoever that woman was, she was dead before 1911 census was taken

I am well aware ancestry trees may not be correct

Depends how well some have researched

My ancestry tree IS accurate cos I have done extensive research backed up with certification!

So don’t dismiss all of them

People can make mistakes but also some records although ? turn out to be the correct

Get his birth cert to check his parents names

There is a possible marriage on freebmd. David Williams and Ann Rees, but Dianna needs to do some careful research, for which certs are essential.

But the best bet is to get the birth cert to see parents names
