I have now got the marriage cert for Leonard Charles Wood and Florence Knott in 1931.

Leonard was 23 (fits with 1908 birth year)

Father is Edward Wood retired Carman (matches all my research), it doesnt say deceased on it (does it always?) I havent been able to identify his death yet either so may narrow down my search time period

Witnesses: Edward Wood and M Wood which indicates his brother and sister in law Edward and Maud Wood present. Who he appeared to be living with at the time of marriage as address is 97 Myrtle Rd

This looks like the right couple I have been looking at.

No, on a marriage cert it doesn't always say if a father is deceased.

The info on any cert is ‘as given’ and can depend entirely on how the questions are worded

Thanks. I did see that one which gave his birth approx 1856 which is near enough. Another cert to buy :-)

What I havnt found is where Florence Wood is in the 1939 census as she isnt listed with Leonard.

I wonder if she is somewhere with this child (I have purchased the birth cert to see)

I'm wondering about this death as a possibility for Florence.

It's in an unexpected place, but the DOB would fit with her birth registration in the Apr/May/Jun quarter of 1909, and also with her baptism in April 1909.

It's a pity there are so many Florence Woods.

as she was a widow in the 90s and their house sold in 2003 she may have moved in or near with a relative until she passed away.

So I have the birth certificate for Jean Pamela Wood.

Born 1st March 1932, 30 Twickenham Road, Isleworth.

Father: Leonard Charles Wood (Charles again!) was a Motor Car Driver
Mother: Florence Wood formerly Knott

Be great to find out more about her as she would be my dads cousin.

I have ruled out the Wood/Ansell marriage as the records suggest the middle name is Primrose

Jean Pamela may well still be alive.

If she hasn't married or died in the UK, and if she has opted out of the public Electoral Roll (assuming she is living in the UK) there will be no online records for us to find.

Unfortunately for us, there are lots of women named Jean Wood.

I know, there is a tonne of records for Jean Wood's out there. I many never find out but I will keep working on it
