On the 1861 census there is an Edward Mills aged 7 living with them. On the original census does it show how he is related to this family?
Thanks again for all your help

Thanks greyghost
Jane was his daughter not his wife. Shame about Edward I couldn't find any links to the family. He is just so young to be living with them if he is not related. and I can't find him on any other census to give me any clues.
Kind regards
Jane

I didn't think to look on the gro site.

If those are the correct census posted, then 1871 - Jane is aged 46 - the same as William so can't be his daughter. 1861 - Ann aged 37, same as William
Edward may only have been there for the night

Jane is his eldest daughter b 1849.
I think it is a transcription error.
William died 2/10/1878 in Bedminster and his wife Mary Ann/ Ann was with him. I have his death cert. Mary Ann or Ann died in Birmingham in 1894. I haven't got her death cert so I could be wrong. Frederick their eldest son moved to Birmingham.
Thanks for all your help
