It was /is quite common to call non relatives Uncle/ Auntie. |

It's possible that "uncle" and "aunt" were just honorary titles , and that Tom and Ginny were just friends of your parents, and not related. |

Thanks for the replies. I used to visIt Uncle Tom and Aunt Ginny in the 1950's but never knew just how they were related to me. I believe it may be through my maternal grandfather's second wife "Daisy"but never knew maiden names for Daisy or Ginny. My grandfather was John Edwin Walker and my mother was Phyllis Walker who married my father John Oakton in 1930. |

Have you found Thomas is all the census from the 1881 census. These would tell you where he was born and then you can confirm his birth year by finding his birth registration. The 1939 register would tell you if there were living at Maple Road. |

Looking for Thomas Edwards born about 1880 and particularly his wife 'Ginny'. They lived in Maple Rd Kiveton Park Yorkshire in the 1940's. |
