Please can someone see if they can find this couple on the 1939 register. They are possibly living in the Eastbourne area.

The only information I have on this couple are that his birthday is around May. She sent him a birthday card on 09/05/1931. There is no address on it and it says it is from his wife Lottie.

I also have a photo (postcard ) of her in Eastbourne which i have dated about 1917. George Austin of Eastbourne was the photographer.

Sorry this is very vague. I am doing it for my mother in law and they were her friend.

There is marriage in Woolwich of Henry H Longhurst to Charlotte J Pearson in 1917 - could this be the couple?

They are together at 30 Ralglan Road, Plumstead in 1939 - his DoB 9th MAY 1893, hers 13 JULY 1894

He is recorded as a Jeweller’s Shop manager

There is this entry on the 1939 Register? Could Henry be Harry?

I was only asked to do this this morning so I haven't had chance to talk to her.

I had a look for marriages for Harry and Charlotte and came up with 2 but they are in the wrong area. Greenwich and Epsom. I looked at Henry and Charlotte and Had no idea how to work out which one was them.

My mother in law lives in Bexhill in Sussex which is not far from Eastbourne. It is quite possible she knows them from there.

Thanks everyone you have all been really great helping me with this. It looks like they are the right couple.

I believe my mother in Law has lived in Woolwich so it is possible she knows them from their. Their are also family connections with Plumpstead. So this couple are looking really good.

Thank you very much for all your help. My mother in law doesn't know much about the family. What she would like to know is did they have any children? I had a look on FreeBMD and couldn't see anything


Apparently her husband knew Henry through the Army.
