This is a really desperate request. I am looking for a far far off relative. All I know about these people is the date of there marriage and their sons name. My relative is JOHN OLIVER and he was married to ELIZABETH WARMINGTON on 27/11/1752. I do not know where but I would imagine it was in Cornwall England and possibly in Newquay. There son, the only one I know of, was called HENRY OLIVER and he was born in Newquay in 1761 at a place called St Eval. His wife was ELIZABETH HOSKINS and she was born in 1766 at a place called Cardinham, Bodmin, Cornwall. They were married in 1793 in Bodmin. I realise this is a way out there request but I have seen stranger things get sorted so here goes with fingers crossed.

The baptism of the child you think is theirs:
Henry Olaver Vital • England, Cornwall Parish Registers, 1538-2010 View Record Name Henry Olaver Sex Male Baptism Date 1761 Baptism Place St Eval, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom Father's Name John Olaver Father's Residence Place St Erness Mother's Name Elizbth Olaver
Do you have any proof that this child is theirs?
There are quite a number of baptisms of Oliver children in various places in Cornwall, with parents named John and Elizabeth.
St Eval is certainly quite near to Mawgan-in-Pydar - roughly 4 miles. And approx 8 miles from Newquay.

A(nother) possible child ?? (Just because of birthplace)
Martha Oliver Vital • England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 Name Martha Oliver Sex Female Christening Date 7 Mar 1756 Christening Place Mawgan in Pyder, Cornwall, England Christening Place (Original) St. Mawgan-In-Pyder, Cornwall, England Father's Name John Oliver Father's Sex Male Mother's Name Elisabeth Mother's Sex Female
There are other Oliver baptisms (1752-1770) with parents John & Elizabeth in St Ervan (approx 7 miles from Mawgan), Probus (about 15 miles from Mawgan), and Manaccan (c45miles away, so not very likely). Also Saint Hilary, but not likely as about 40 miles away.
You can find all these on FamilySearch.
The St Ervan baptisms are:
Richard - 24 Aug 1766 James - 24 April (or March - handwriting is hard to read) 1763

Roy - remember that "information" on someone's tree isn't necessarily correct - it's often not.
Much of the info on that tree posted by Maddie has no proof attached, so may or may not be accurate. There are several trees showing this family.
Just one of many reasons for doubt: the tree Maddie posted mentions a son John born 1753. Another tree also claims that, and adds that he died 1838.
But the only "proof" offered is a gravestone inscription - which has different dates on it, so is immediately suspect. :
UK and Ireland, Find A Grave Index, 1300s-Current Name: John Oliver Birth Date : 1754 Death Date: 1841 Cemetery: St. Menefreda Churchyard Burial or Cremation Place St Minver Highlands, Cornwall Unitary Authority, Cornwall, England Spouse: Catherine Oliver
The children baptised in St Ervan (Richard and James) are stated to be brothers of John 1753 - but we can't say that definitely, as the mother's maiden surname isn't given on their baptism records.
Another tree says that John 1753 died in 1841, which almost matches the gravestone info (but still doesn't prove he's a son of John and Elizabeth ) - but then the tree gives an 1851 census sample as "proof" of the existence of a man who died in 1841! And the census sample is for a man aged 35, so born c1816.
And so on.

Thanks all, a lot of different information which was to be expected considering the lack of information I had. I will have to troll through all of it and see where I end up. I think I will have to put a post on Johns family sheet so I can come back yo it. Roy
