I am looking for any info on a James Disley, 1936 - 2017. He was the late husband of my cousin Joan Bowden nee Bryan. Joan knew very few of Jim's family members as he was quite a bit older than her and it was 2nd marriage for both of them, but says he was 1 of 12 children! But I cannot find any info - I can't even find him on the 1939 census? There is a James Disley aged 2, but he was in Preston, and this Jim spent all his life in Leigh. Looking on ancestry though........there are one heck of a lot of Disley's! Jim did have a son, David, but he predeceased him I believe. Any idea how I find out more? I should add that our curate is also looking for some Disley's in Leigh, and we wondered if there was a connection at all? Many thanks, as always. |
