I am trying to trace the birth or baptisms of my husbands 2 x great grandparents. They were both born in Ireland. Samuel was born around 1855 in drumlough County down and Mary ann hamill was born in 1857 in carrowdore County down. They moved to Ulverston Lancashire and married in 1879. I have the marriage cert and both death certs but am unable to trace any further back. Mary Ann's father was John and I think Samuel's was Thomas but it does come up with Norman on one of the records. I have no mothers names for either. Any help would be appreciated |

I've seen that one, on the actual marriage cert Samuel's father does look more like Thomas. It is very poorly written. I posted a copy of it on Facebook and the majority went with Thomas as well. |

The only details I had on John hamill was he was from Ireland and born around 1828 and died 1908, other than that I've not been able to find out anything, it's the same with Samuel morrison. Mary Ann's husband. I've not been able to work out his father's name. I have a copy of there Marriage cert and it looks like it says Thomas. One of the census records say carrodore for Mary but doesn't say birth it says resident and on samuels it says drumlough as resident. I presumed it ment the place of birth but I could be wrong. |
