Find Ancestors

Help needed please as I am trying to find any ancestors of George Hartley who was born circa 1823, relatives have advised that he was likely born in Yorkshire but London is also a possibility. I think that he married in Wakefield about 1845 and that his possible wife was Elizabeth Lancaster but I do not know this for certain and this could be wrong given the problems that I am having in finding any ancestors for George or details of his wife. I believe his children were:
Alfred born c 1848
Rebekah or Rebecca born c 1850

If you look for Alfred & Rebecca on the GRO site (free but you have toi register) you will find Alfred b 1847 & Rebecca c 1849 with mmn Lancaster

I hope that I am replying correctly to your message on my thread, if not please let me know. I got back to George Hartley and his possible wife Elizabeth Lancaster only from information given by my now late father in law. Have never managed to find any ancestors for George and it would appear that this is possible because he was illegitimate.
