Welcome to the boards, Mandy.
For our reference - what records have you found her on? Where did she die?
Is this her?

She is on three trees on Ancestry - two are private. The public one says she was born in 1776 in Bolsover, and mentions the marriage on 18 Jan 1801.
Wm. Spite England Marriages, 1538–1973 Name: Wm. Spite Sex: Male Spouse's Name: Ann Selby Spouse's Sex: Female Marriage Date: 19 Jan 1801 Marriage Place: Bolsover, Derbyshire, England, United Kingdom Marriage Place (Original): Bolsover, Derby, England
The tree claims they had a son, John, born in 1806 in Bolsover. It says he married Ann Unwin on 24 Dec 1829 in Bolsover, and they had a daughter Mary, in 1837 in Bolsover.
John Spite England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 Name: John Spite Sex: Male Christening Date: 12 Jan 1806 Christening Place: Bolsover, Derbyshire, England, United Kingdom Christening Place (Original): Bolsover, Derby, England Father's Name: William Spite Father's Sex: Male Mother's Name: Ann Mother's Sex: Female

Is this the death you found? - though it would make her YOB 1778, not 1783 as you've suggested

As well as the son John in 1806, William and Ann also had Charles 20/03/1808, Thomas 10/07/1814, William 31/08/1802, and Esther 06/04/1804 .
Sadly, there are burial records for Esther, Thomas, and David (born 1812, though I can't find his baptism) - all buried in Feb 1815.
A tree on Ancestry (actually, I think it's your tree - Mandy Smith?) claims Ann was born 30 Nov 1778 in Yorkshire. Parents: William and Easter (Esther) Ann Selby.
However, it's impossible to tell if people in what records are offered as "proof" are actually the same Ann and her family.
I suspect the tree owner(you ?) has latched on to the mistranscription of her birthplace in the 1851 census. The tree claims that her father was born in London, married in Holbeach, Lincolnshire, had Ann in Yorkshire, and died in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Another supposed daughter is said to have been baptised in South Cerney, Gloucestershire, about 140 miles away from Grantham. I'm afraid it all sounds like someone (you?) grabbing at any record for people with convenient names.
Apologies if I'm wrong!
Don't know if this is her in 1841 or not - can't find the birth of a son George (which doesn't mean she didn't have one). If this is her, it indicates that she was born in Derbyshire, which certainly seems probable.

There is absolutely no proof that Ann Selby of Lenton is the one who married in Bolsover.
I think she's probably another red herring, picked on by a tree owner just because of her name, and age as given in the 1851 census .
This is far more likely to be the marriage of the Lenton woman:
Ann Selby in the England, Select Marriages, 1538–1973 Name: Ann Selby Gender: Female Marriage Date: 10 Nov 1810 Marriage Place: Lenton,Nottingham,England Spouse: William Haslam FHL Film Number: 462987, 503787, 504502
I don't think you'll ever know where Ann of Bolsover was born, or who her parents were, Mandy
Not all baptism records have survived (or existed in the first place).

Interesting?
DEATHS - On the 3rd inst., at Bolsover, William Spite, eldest son of the late Ann Selby Spite, who at one time was thought be the rightful heiress ot the Whaddon Hall estates in Buckinghamshire. 09 April 1870 - Derbyshire Times and Chesterfield Herald - Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England
Following on from that
On the morning of the 4tb October, died Bolsover, after a short illness, at very advanced age, Anne Spite, who, although supported by parish relief, was the rightlul heiress of large estates. The circumstances of her family history are curious. 17 October 1856 - Derbyshire Advertiser and Journal - Derby, Derbyshire, England
Will send you the clipping but Ann was not 'descended from gentle blood.' Her father stayed in Spalding, Lincs where she was born and her brother, William was a weaver in Sheffield. When he died she became heiress to the estate. An ancestor had married into money and bought the estate and when the last Selby in Whaddon died, he left it to a neighbour in trust. The Selbys where from Yorkshire but the Whaddon family had not kept in touch with them.
Ann married a poor labourer by the name of Spite and had a large family. She tried to claim her inheritance but did not succeed as too much time had passed and the Selby Lowndes were considered the owners. They had added Selby to their name.

Ooh, very interesting! Although presumably it was decided that she wasn't, after all.
Whaddon Hall is a country house in Whaddon, Buckinghamshire. It is a Grade II listed building. The first manor house was built on the site in the 11th century. The present house was built in 1820, replacing a house which was demolished in the late 18th century. It was once home to the Selby family (also known as Selby-Lowndes), whose ancestor William Lowndes built the larger and grander Winslow Hall. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whaddon_Hall

Re William Lowndes -
Lowndes had children with each of his wives, 25 children in all. His offspring were also fruitful: one son had 16 children, including four sets of twins in four years; a grandson had 10 children. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Lowndes_(1652%E2%80%931724)
Too many to investigate here, I think!
