I would like some help please of William Frederick Smith. he was born 1863 Watford Herts. It is a bit of a puzzle with him trying to find who his parents were. Know in 1891 living in Pritwell Essex occ Carpenter. 1881 a boarder in Edmonton district age 19 occ Carpenter but when looked on the 1871 census this is where I have got completely confused. He was in the household of a Isaac Roberts in Watford Herts. Many thanks

It's been mistranscribed on Ancestry.

Looking at the image -
the Roberts family and Catharine Anthony are one household, at 1 Beecham Grove.

The three Smiths are a different household, at 2 Beecham Grove.

However, Caroline, who is clearly the head of that household, is indeed listed as "daughter" on the image. Mistake by enumerator ??

Sorry couldn’t get back to you before now,had to go out. Oh my a lot to digest what you have all answered to my request. I had found his marriage to Margaret Phipps. It looks like it could be him on 1871 census what had thrown me was Caroline b 1848 stated daughter, then Clara b 1860 daughter. So looking what has been found Caroline unmarried ,she must have been 12 yrs old when possibly had her daughter Clara. See witness at wedding of William Frederick Smith was a Clara Smith so for sure this must be the family of my friend

Think I have found it, The parents of William Frederick Smith both seem to have died by 1865 so in the 1871, he was living with his elder sisters Caroline and Clara
