Have William George Snell with Parents Beatric May Wotton 1902-1972 Cullompton Devon and William John Snell 1890-1966. They are both together in Cullompton Cemetery. William George Snell is also nearby though he died in Exeter. I can't find a marriage for him or whether he had children. There is a William Gordon Snell 1921-1993 that married Lilian Hawkins in 1957 She died in 2018 The 2 William G Snell throw up confusion. William John Snell parents I think are Emanuel James 1865 -1936 married to Sarah Ann Selway 1863-1938.
Can anyone help me find information on William George Snell Please I keep coming to a dead end. Thank You

Sorry his Birth was Sept 1926 Died 1989 June Exeter Buried in June 1989 in Cullompton Devon.

It might be worth getting his death certificate to see if a family member is mentioned.

This will be William G with parents in 1939.

and his registeed death.1989.

If he has a headstone it may read,,,,,,,husband //.father.//grandfather.?

Just a lot of William G Snell in the Devon area and hard to know without buying a lot of certificates. Will get his birth and Death though and hope to get to look in the Cemetery in Cullompton too. :-)

His parents have a headstone on Findagrave uk but only a number have been photographed and up loaded to the site,these projects are done by volunteers usually from a history group.

There isnt one listed for William G although a death is recorded on the site,as 1989 but no DOB,,,,could only his ashes with plaque have been placed in a section for cremations,?

Perhaps the Cullompton Town Council who manage the cem could say if a headstone has been placed as they give permission.

Earlier Probate records show the names of the Executors - but his is too recent for that

Sometimes it does say effects to and a name of widow or spinster

Sorry, no, NOT in recent UK ones, to the best of my knowledge.

And the older UK ones only give the value of the effects, and names etc of Executors - not the names of the legatees.

Thank You All. I am going to the cemetery on Thursday. I don't think his grave is far from the parents but it is a stone and have sent for the birth and death certificates. Thank for your help.

Died RDE Hospital 15th June 1989. Signed by A Doctor.
Grave stone does say Husband of Rita
Found then a marriage for them in 1979 Tiverton Rita E M Campbell both 49 years.
Then she is gone. So I am sure they had No Children which is what I mainly have been looking for.
I did find a death for a Rita Snell in 2009 but not where.
I seem to have been working on these people for a long time.
If any one can help I will be grateful.

There isn't a 2009 death showing for a Rita Snell, but there is one for registered in Q1 2010 in Somerset -

However that is for a lady shown as born 1921 and named as Rita Sear Snell.
Your marriage certificate says she was aged 49 in 1979, so born 1929/30

I have found a ER for Southend on Sea for 2008-2010 Rita Snell
DOB 1927-1929 Wonder if that could be her then the Death in 2009.

Is this the marriage you refer to? 1976 not 1979 and Exeter RD which doesn't cover Tiverton

EDIT - even accounting for the marriage actually being in 1976 and in Exeter RD which doesn't cover Tiverton, if you have posted her correct age, that would make her born 1926/7
