I can't see a baptism on Ancestry with a father Wiliam - the only one seems to be for one with a father Andrew

I'm not finding any birth records or even a William Cree born in Ayrshire early enough to be his father in any records.


There is this one but he's born in Fife.

This is the only baptism on SP of a James Cree with father William in approx 1816-ish.
BUT it's in Fife, not Ayrshire - on the other side of the country and a fair bit further north:

Yes, Alviegal has posted the marriage details above, but we can't find any baptism for a James Cree born in Ayrshire around 1816 with father named William.


There's this William in Ayrshire, who would be of an age to have a son born c1816 - but no way to know if he ever did have a son named James.
You'd also have to look at the image of the census on ScotlandsPeople to see exactly what his name was - Cray or Dray.
Anyway - he's a joiner, not a yeoman.
