Find Ancestors

I'm probably going to kick myself for missing this but I can't find David Evans and his family going to Chicago. They had a child born there in 1885 so it was probably just before that.
David Evans, born in 1848, probably Tredegar but definitely Wales
Wife Jemima, born 1847, Tredegar, Wales. All the children below were born in Tredegar.

Margaretta Keziah Anne, born 1870
Edith Julia, born 1874
Richard John, born 1876
Lily Rhoda, born 1880

The dates of birth have been taken off a family Bible.

There is a gap of five years before the next child, Ulysses Sinclair, born in Chicago so I'm guessing this gap is when they went. They had fourteen children in all, seven dying before the age of two.

I'd be grateful if someone could take a peek for me.

Thank you. I was assuming they went together but it seems not. I haven't tried Ellis Island, I'll look now. That would explain the gap with no children too.
