1871 shows Tom with father John, born c1822, and siblings, William, Hannah & Walter

Ignore ancestry trees unless they show verifiable PROOF

So this would be the South Yorkshire Wortley, not the Leeds Wortley.

It would be useful if you told us which ancestral line you had found and why you discounted it.

Edit:
There are a lot of trees on Ancestry which suggest the parents are John & Martha - are these the ones you discounted?

Birthplace for both is said to be Ecclesfield, Yorks.

Buy the marriage cert for the names of their fathers ( if they knew them)

No need to guess their death years - look for the info on freebmd

Would appreciate any help in finding the parents and grandparents of Tom Platts c1861 to c1916 and Ellen Walton c1860 to c1931 who were married in 1880 at Wortley in Yorkshire. I thought that I had all the correct ancestors but it proved to be the wrong road so I am wanting to double check.
