help finding a birth please

How can he have been born in 1904 and married in 1912?

Deceased fathers don’t always exist

Have you looked for a birth using the GRO site, which gives MMN pre-1911

Good morning everyone.
I hope one of you lovely people can help me find a birth record

I am looking for Robert Shard born 5th August 1884 in Widnes Lancashire/Cheshire. I have his date of birth from the UK, Royal Navy Registers of Seamen's Services, 1848-1939 but i can't find his birth anywhere.

The information I have is from is Robert's marriage certificate .
Robert Shard's father was James Shard (deceased )
and Robert married his cousin Elizabeth Shard in 1912 in St Helens Lancashire.The witnesses were Elizabeths brother and his wife.
It also staes that Robert aged 28 was a widow but can't find a previous marriage for him. his occupation is Miner.

I would like to find his birth as I dont' know who is mother was. His father James Shard married Ann Elizabeth Jones in 1895 in Widnes.
Unless this is the wrong James

Any help would be very much appreciated
