I posted that man's 2015 death on 24/3 at 13.06

Yes I did see that, okay.
I was in contact with a female descendant here in NZ.
Her father was David Leonard Bischoff Towgood/Dixon one of the children.
I will see if I can find her email which I had years ago, I have seen a Memorial to a David Bischoff Towgood 2015 with her name on it.
I will get back to you when I find her.

Craig, when you look at the search result, you will see that there is nothing under the heading "Mother's former name". This indicates there is no "former/maiden name" because she has not married, and therefore Dixon is her maiden name.

You are correct they are not related by blood, but the 2 son's changed there name to Towgood and there step father is connected, so they can still be added to my tree, plus there are descendants living in NZ, where I live.
The last I heard about the 3rd child, Jill she was living in USA.

The last bit at the bottom, son of, was that on the register as well or from somewhere else, as I have always thought he was a son of Ernest and Bertha but could never find anything to prove that and never added John to my tree. a lot of people always thought that the name Bischoff was German but it's Swiss. I have name back to 1696.
You have just solved a big mystery for me as descendants are alive in NZ.

I was following them too in Canada but then saw you had posted the info that I also was finding

Was a fluke finding him on the 1939 register

Plus too on the ww1 attestment for Bertha husband David boas he does give Cecil and Jack dob unknown but born in Canada

Bertha also had children registered as Moore but no marriage

All fits with info I posted earlier, which was not acknowledged. Thanks Shirley

Kathleen Ann Dixon was married before, husband apparently not nice.
John Douglas Bischoff Towgood had 2 brothers Arthur who lived in Wiltshire and William who lived in Tooting, London. Can not find them either.
This getting hard.

Hi, The John Douglas Bischoff Towgood I am looking for was was a Master at Dr Bernados Home where David and his brother lived during WW2.
That's where he met Kathleen Ann Dixon and married her, she had been married before, so as I said Dixon may not be her maiden name.
3 children born to Dixon
David Leonard Bischoff Towgood - Dixon
Michael Bischoff Towgood - Dixon
and Jill who stayed a Dixon
So the boys could be registered as Dixon
The Bischoff name I have ancesters and descendants and not one had a John Douglas Bischoff Towgood.
So you see my problem.
Makes it hard.
