Hi I have been researching my Great Grandfather got a while now to try and get some answers for my Nana. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Charles William Oliver Norcott - also known by Jack Born: 29/01/1912 Lincolnshire, Yorkshire Death: Unknown Parents: Frederick James Norcott (1879-1975) & Fanny Verge (1881-1975)
Married Florence Beryl Cynthia Whiteley (1936) Children: Audrey (1937) & Wendy (1940) Norcott Left his family 1944
Married Laura Cooper (1954)
Went to Canada around 1957 to set up home and was supposed to send for Laura
I have since been told he met a lady on the boat called Dorothy and married her, never sending for Laura?
My Nana is now 80 and never had any closure on what happened to her father so we are trying to fill in the gaps for her.
I have done a family tree on ancestry but after the marriage to Laura Cooper, Charles seems to disappear!

Thanks for your reply. Yes all that information is correct. She married George Bolton before Charles Norcott and had those 3 children.
As for Charles going to New York with Ronald, we don't understand as to why Laura and her other 2 children didn't go at the same time.
It's just so strange that there are no records for Charles after this time?
If I could get in touch with any of Laura's children that would be amazing as they could possibly hold all the answers

In your opening post you answered your own query about Laura not going at the same time as Charles -
"Went to Canada around 1957 to set up home and was supposed to send for Laura"
It was quite common for a husband to emigrate first, find a job and a home, and then for the family to follow later.
As for why there are no records for Charles after that - many such relatively recent records are not online.

Yes, but Ronald was not Charles' son which is why we were confused.
We are just looking for something to show what happened to him in the end

Ronald would have been 18 in 1957. Maybe he wanted to try his luck in the US or Canada, and Charles offered to take him along. You'll never know for sure.
Doesn't help the present query, but posting in case you don't have this:

Thank you all so much for your help. I don’t know why it won’t let me back into the above account.
I managed to get in touch with a gentleman through ancestry whose wife is related to Charles/Jack down the lines. Unfortunately, her grandmother had passed away and she would have known a lot more. This is the information they gave me:
“Below is the response we got from my wifes aunt in the UK:
I can remember Uncle Jack visiting 256 but I was quite young at the time and eventually emigrating to Canada. He went out first and when organised would send for his wife and children. He never did because on the boat he met a lady called Dorothy and eventually married her!!!!!! Grandma Moore did go and stay with them a couple of times in Canada”
Unfortunately I haven’t heard anything since. I really do appreciate everyone’s replies!

There doesn't seem to be anything for them later than the 1974 Voters' List entry for Charles and Mrs Dorothy Norcott (who may or may not be the right couple) which I posted on 16 March 2021 at 17:49 - and which you have on your Ancestry tree . Also nothing at all to identify Dorothy.
In Ontario - Birth records are released to the public after 104 years, marriages after 82 years, and deaths after 72 years. The following dates are open to the public:
Birth registrations: 1869-1917 Marriage registrations: 1801-1941 Death registrations: 1869-1951 Death registrations (overseas): 1939-1947
