Apparently, the daughter Sarah Ann said she was brought up in an orphanage....certainly not in one in 1881, as per census info

Having googled, I find reference to a home for BOYS in Rock Ferry.....but nothing else.. And that didn't open until 1890

I know it's the mother you're interested in, Sandra - but as we seem to have got on to the daughter -
