Ahh that 1911 census didn’t come up for me

One came up but with smedley parents

I hadn’t calculated the age of the child that died as I have to keep switching to look at records on my iPad and can only look at one website at a time

Didn’t see the burial either !

So being with the Osbornes it looks like the Smedley marriage had fallen apart quite soon !

I would concur with that - the child born AMJ 1905 would have been one year old in JAS 1906

A Doris Smedley who died at only 3 hours old was buried in Nottingham General Cemetery on 14th August 1906 so that was probably this birth -

Some weird mis-spelling on GRO, though spelled properly on FreeBMD, and on the index image.
GRO also doesn't recognise Grovesnor as a "phonetically similar" version of Grosvenor - or of anything else. But it does think that Garner and Grovenor are phonetically similar to Grovesnor.
