Does anyone know of either of the above who may have been a friend of Ethel Bays in South Shields 1946/1947,thanks

Welcome to the boards, Roger.

Unfortunately, it's highly unlikely that anyone who knows him (them?) will happen to see your post.

If Ethel married Douglas Golightly, and then John Porteous, she appears to have been living, widowed, in Lancashsire, to 2019, or possibly 2020.


Look at Electoral Rolls, under "Search" at top right of this page.


Also on ERs, there's a Jackie Taylor in South Shields to 2010 - but is a woman , born in the 1960s..
