I have received the results of my Ancestry test. I have a question.

I have seven great paternal WAY ancestors. When I look 'Thrulines' it lists only 5 great WAY grandfathers. Does this mean my 6th great grandmother was 'playing away'?

Any thoughts on this please .......

Don't know what 'thrulines' are - (please don't bother to tell me) - but have you done your own research?

From this (found by Googling "Ancestry thrulines") , it doesn't sound as if you can put any faith in anything the "thrulines" tell you: It seems to depend on the accuracy or otherwise of your and other people's trees - not a good basis for trust!

"AncestryDNA® ThruLines™

ThruLines™ shows you how you may be related to your DNA matches. ThruLines™ are based on information from family trees; they don't change the information in trees. If there's inaccurate information in your tree, you may receive inaccurate ThruLines™. Only you and anyone you've invited to view your DNA results can see your ThruLines™.
We use the family tree linked to your test to find people who are in your tree and are also in your matches's linked trees. If your tree is private and not searchable, you won't be able to see ThruLines™, and information from your matches' trees that are private and not searchable won't be available to you. DNA matches may appear in more than one of your ThruLines™. "

Thru lines are based on the trees people have on Ancestry. They cannot be relied on as Ancestry trees are notorious.
However they can solve brick walls. Have a look into these other men - as an example , I have a brick wall so Thru lines have given me ancestors of a similar name in another place and I have researched them and found them to be wrong.
You would b e better off looking at your matches and checking out the shared matches.
You can now group people by adding a coloured spot - very useful indeed.
