I have William Appleyard of Ulceby d.1567
Father of Thomas Appleyard and Isabella.
I have come across a document which says.
John Appleyard of Santoft aforesaid, who married dau. of Bilton and had a son and heir,viz:
John Appleyard, of Butterwick, Isle of Axholme, co.Lincoln, married Margaret or Helen, day. of Sir Robert Sheffield, Knt.,and Helen , day. and heiress of Sir Robert Delves, Knt. Sir Robert was Speaker of the House of Commons, Recorder of London, &c., and by her had issue--
Richard Appleyard, mentioned in hi father's Will.
William Appleyard, mentioned in his father's Will, migrated to Ulcebye, Lincolnshire, and became the Ancestor of the Lincolnshire Family.
Agnes, Margaret, Elizabeth. All three mentioned in father's Will.
Robert Appleyard, of Falsthorpe, mentioned in his father's Will.
His Will proved 1545, had issue, 3 children--
Thomas Appleyard, of Swaby, his will proved 1561.

Elizabeth
George Appleyard, Vicar of Barrow.
Thomas Appleyard, the Lord Abbot of Thornton.
John Appleyard, of whom afterwards.
I did find the family on Tudorplace Sheffield.
Is my William the same William mentioned in the Will?
I will just mention we were told we descended from Sir John Appleyard of Bracon Ash, but haven't found any evidence to suggest that.
Any help would be much appreciated.

There is no date, I came across it on a tree on Ancestry.

There are 17 trees on Ancestry with Robert Appleyard, died 1545.
Parents John Appleyard and Margaret Sheffield.
As usual, most have just copied blindly from each other.
Most don't have any details for his brother William other than his name.
One says he died 1567, which would be the same as your William.

Re the 1567 Chancery proceedings, it offers "British Chancery Records, 1386-1558" as proof.
