Find Ancestors

I am trying to find birth and marriage records for my GGrandmother Annie Corlett.
I believe from census records that she was born abt 1854 in Sulby, Isle of Man, she married James Dickson (Dixon) abt 1875. James appears to have been born abt 1874 in Glasgow.
Their first child (my Grandfather) Thomas Corlett Dickson was born 12/12/1878 in Hebburn, Durham, they had 6 children together eventually settling in Walker, Newcastle upon Tyne (Tynemouth) where Annie died in 1920 and James in 1913.
I have census records from 1881, 91, 1901 and 1911 in my family tree. At some point the married surname changed from Dickson to Dixon.
To add more confusion the 1881 census has them living in Bath Street, Barrow, Lancs, with James born in Derry Ireland, Annie born in Armagh Ireland and Thomas born in Barrow? Other census records appear correct.

Whilst Thomas Corlett's and Robert James' births are shown as surname Dickson, the later children are Dixon and all census show them as Dixon - may have been the more common way to spell it and people were not so literate then.

1911 census says married 36 years. 6 children born and still living

They may never have married, either because they just didn't or one of them was already married and not free to.

Dixon appears as most common spelling in England/Wales 1881 births and census but in Scotland Dickson is the more common.

There is not a marriage in Scotland for an Anne (variations) Corlett 1870-1913

Daughter Annie is registered as Annie Reed Dixon born 1874 Sunderland in case the Reed gives any clues. No middle names for the younger children

There so many questions regarding the 1881 census i wonder how the recorders obtained the information at that time? James and Annie appear born in Ireland, Thomas born in Barrow in Furness where as his BC clearly indicates born in Hebburn (South Shields) on 12/1/1878.
I find the marriage of Thomas Corlett and Margaret Gawne interesting as their names and that of their children appear throughout my maternal side of the family.
