Hi there can anyone help please: My wife's Uncle is John James Fordyce born 17 Sep 1902 graigellachie Scotland, moved to Belfast to live: In 1925 he emigrated to Australia: He left on 15 Jan 1924 from London to Melbourne Victoria: He arrived there on P&O ship "Beltana" on 24 Feb 1925:
We can not find him returning to the UK or what he did while in Australia: we know he did return and we think it was around 1927, but he was back by 1931 as that is when he got married in Belfast:
IAny help would be most appreciated :

Some of the details from the Karen Joscht are correct i.e. the brothers and sisters mentioned are correct. My wife does not think that the outward journey from Glasgow to New York or the return from Chile is the same John Fordyce: He would not be leaving from Scotland or returning there as he was living in Ireland and had been since before 1911. Thank you for sending that, Wife had seen that tree:

Info: I received a pm from a GR member in Oz and they told me to try the National Library of Australia in Canberra: Although they are in Canberra they cover the whole of Oz: On their site they have a pop up called "Ask a Librarian" I tried it, you write the query you have just like a email and they pick it up and they search for you: They restrict the search to one hour: They got back to me after about a week but in my case there was no luck: They also gave me another site to try " National Archives of Australia" I have tried them and are now waiting to see if any thing is forth coming: Hope that this might help for anyone searching in Oz:
